Psalm 53
See on Psalms 14 and 53. The same psalm — with
very slight modifications — is included in Books 1 and 2 of the Psalter
(see notes, “The Psalms and the Pentateuch” in the introduction).
Whereas Psalm 14 has “Yahweh” (or
“Jehovah”) throughout (according to the Sopherim), Psalm 53 always
uses “Elohim”.
Psalm 53 has the subscription “Neginoth” (see
Psalms 14 and 53, Par. 4), which is lacking in Psalm 14.
